S'well is dedicated to creating beautiful, innovative products designed to help people live more sustainably. A key brand initiative is to reduce the use of single-use plastics. The company offers a variety of reusable bottles, food containers, and accessories.
Project Objective
The objective of this project was to create a variety of images for S'well's back-to-school marketing content. The creative team wanted a mix of product-focused shots and lifestyle imagery featuring school-age kids to convey joy and excitement for the back-to-school season. They wanted the images to be bright and crisp, and shot in various settings and angles.
Production Challenges
The project presented several challenges. The shot list was very detailed, requiring precise execution of each request while maintaining a variety of imagery. Another challenge was creating a back-to-school atmosphere without access to an actual school setting.
Creative Process
To meet these challenges, I relied on my organizational skills and attention to detail. A detailed shot list and notes kept me on track throughout the shoot. My planning process allowed me to brainstorm shots in advance, ensuring each asset was uniquely styled to provide a variety of imagery.
To create the back-to-school setting, I used my home environment and incorporated scenes such as packing lunch in the kitchen and setting up a desk in my home office with classroom props like a globe, pencils, papers, and books. I also used school-age kids with backpacks as models to further capture the back-to-school theme.
