Hi, I’m Effie

I don’t remember a time in my life when photography was not “my thing.” From the kid with the disposable camera, to the teenager who took her friends senior photos, to the 20 year old who opened her own photography business…and 12+ years later I’m still at it! I truly love the feeling I get when I am behind the lens; the concerns and stresses of everyday life vanish and it becomes all about the creative process and making something beautiful to share with others.

When I started my business I thought I could do it all. As long as I was photographing something I was happy, but as I learned more about business (and grew my little family) I knew I needed to niche into a specific field within photography. I realized I had a special place in my heart for working with other business owners and brands so I slowly pivoted my business and have solely been working with brands now for the past 5 years. It started with small businesses in my hometown of Tacoma, WA and has expanded into not only working with local artisans and personal brands, but also working with household brand names like Samsonite, M&M’s, and even Google.

Brand photography is about more than crafting an Instagram feed that is pleasing to the eye. I want to take it one step further by defining how you want your customers to feel, and making these emotions and connections a reality. My clients say that brand photography is the single most important investment they have ever made for their business.

On a personal note

I’ve been married to my best friend for 10 years now, and we have two sons, Harvey and Lars, who consume almost every non-working moment of our lives ;) Together as a family we love to go biking (the Foothills Trail is my favorite), discover new music (this speaks to my husband being an audio nerd), eat out at local restaurants (we’re still searching for a better pizza than Carlson Block, but closer to home. It doesn’t exist), or on a rare sunny day (and these are very rare in the PNW), take our paddle boards out to a scenic lake…but lets be honest, between work, school, soccer and church our lives are pretty full already ;)
