Brand Overview

Jack Daniel's is one of the most iconic American whiskey brands. Distilled in Tennessee, with only the finest grains and pristine spring water, it is mellowed drop-by-drop through sugar maple charcoal, and aged in new handcrafted white oak barrels.

Project Objective

The objective of this product shoot was to create vibrant summer imagery showcasing Jack Daniel's in a lively setting like a backyard BBQ. The focus was on the product – the bottle and the drinks – using warm, golden light to highlight its appeal. The goal was to capture the spirited, youthful energy of the brand, making the product the clear hero of each shot, emphasizing the enjoyment it delivers.

 
 

Production Challenges

This product photoshoot shoot presented several challenges. First, capturing a genuine summer atmosphere in the cooler spring months requires careful styling and framing. Maintaining the freshness of highball cocktails, particularly the ice, throughout the shoot was another hurdle. Additionally, interpreting the brand's desired aesthetic from the brief proved challenging as they requested a non-stereotypical BBQ vibe.

Creative Process

To create the desired summer vibe, I asked my models to dress in summery attire and selected backgrounds with lots of greenery. Then, I adjusted the images in post-production to enhance warmth and golden tones. I maintained the freshness of the highball cocktails by pre-freezing the glasses and refreshing the ice throughout the shoot. To avoid stereotypical BBQ imagery, I staged a clean and simple patio scene, deliberately avoiding clichés like checkered tablecloths and big piles of meat.
