Bringing a Fast Asian Eatery to Life Through Bold Product Photography
Brand Overview
Mein Street is a new fast Asian eatery brand created under Harbor Wholesale, designed to offer a bold and modern take on Asian cuisine. With the tagline "Embrace the Spice," Mein Street aims to capture the vibrancy and flavor of Asian food in a way that resonates with today's consumers.
Project Objective
The primary objective of this project was to bring the Mein Street brand to life through compelling visual storytelling. This involved creating a comprehensive library of images for approximately 20 individual menu items, 10 combo meals, and various styled shots featuring a range of dishes. The images were intended for use across all of the brand's online platforms and print materials.
Production Challenges
This was a large on-location shoot that required significant organization and planning ahead of time. Key challenges included developing a detailed shot list and inspiration documents to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow on shoot day.
Establishing a cohesive visual identity for the new Mein Street brand was also crucial; it was important to develop an aesthetic that would consistently represent the brand's bold, modern vibe.
Lastly, the location, a commercial food distribution center, required the use of brought-in backdrops to create the desired scenes. All of these details demanded careful pre-planning and meticulous attention to detail in the execution of the shoot.
Creative Process
As mentioned, detailed pre-production was essential for this larger-scale shoot, so we developed a comprehensive spreadsheet to outline every required shot and an inspiration document that provided visual guidance throughout the shoot.
To establish the desired brand aesthetic in the commercial food distribution center, we sourced new props and backdrops from Replica Surfaces, specifically choosing them to complement Mein Street's identity, like a backdrop with texture that reminded us of the curved lines of noodles.
We focused on detail in the staging and styling, carefully selecting elements to enhance the visual appeal of the dishes. This included linens in the branding colors, chopsticks, and appropriate garnishes.
