Polysporin Kids Cream

High-End Brand Storytelling for Caregiving Products

Brand Overview

Polysporin is a staple in the first-aid category, trusted by families for generations to treat minor cuts, scrapes, and burns. For their Kids Cream line, the brand emphasizes a sense of comfort and relief during the inevitable "ouch" moments of childhood. The brand’s identity is centered on being a positive solution in caregiving, positioning their products as a reliable partner for parents who want to keep their children active, protected, and moving forward with a sense of optimism.

Project Objective

For this project, the brand requested a diverse library of professional lifestyle assets that position Polysporin Kids Cream as the definitive solution for minor wound care moments. I aimed to capture authentic yet polished moments of caregiving, demonstrating the product’s versatility in different settings—from the bathroom and kitchen to on-the-go scenarios like the playground. A key focus was ensuring the imagery felt optimistic and professional, with a mix of tight application shots and wide-angle compositions that included intentional negative space for future marketing graphics and overlays.

Production Challenges

One of the primary hurdles for this project involved styling a utilitarian, functional product like first-aid cream into visually engaging imagery that feels premium and aspirational. Elevating a mundane item requires an intentional approach to composition and lighting to ensure it stands out to consumers as a high-quality solution. Additionally, sourcing and coordinating a diverse cast that authentically represented the brand’s demographics presented a logistical challenge. Working with child talent adds a layer of unpredictability, requiring a lot of patience to ensure that moments of caregiving look natural and that specific application shots are executed accurately, all while maintaining the optimistic energy required by the brief.

Creative Process

I addressed the specific talent needs for this shoot by curating a cast from within my personal network. To navigate the unpredictability of working with young children, I utilized a patient, light-touch approach to direction. By talking the models through each scenario and helping the children "get into character" as they imagined various "owies," I was able to cultivate genuine expressions of care and relief that felt both heartwarming and professional.

To elevate the utilitarian nature of the product, I used my bright and airy studio to create clean, high-end medicine cabinet and home-care vignettes. For the outdoor segments, I selected an aesthetically pleasing playground featuring raw wood textures and a modern design. This deliberate choice of environment ensured the background remained sophisticated and uncluttered, allowing the focus to stay on the product. By blending intentional set selection with a relaxed, character-focused directing style, I produced a polished gallery that transforms everyday first-aid into a premium visual narrative.

Nailed it as usual.”
