Winter Product Imagery for Brewcursion
Scenic Adventure Imagery for Premium Keg Coolers
Brand Overview
Brewcursion is a newly launched brand focused on solving a key challenge: making it easier to take beer kegs on adventures. Their initial product is the keg cooler, designed to tap your keg and keep it cool for your adventures. This cooler is aimed at the outdoor adventure community, particularly homebrewers, who appreciate getting out into nature. Brewcursion is founded on the idea of enjoying that perfect moment—sitting on a camp chair or on the back of a truck, overlooking a beautiful scene, and taking that first sip of a cold drink.
Project Objective
The goal of my initial lifestyle product photoshoot with Brewcursion was to create high-quality 'in the wild' imagery that clearly showcases the keg cooler's intended use. The objective was to develop compelling visual imagery that immediately resonates with the outdoor adventure scene and demonstrates how these products make it easier to tap and enjoy your keg. The finished imagery needed to highlight how the cooler works and be suitable for use across their social media and website. This content is critical for helping the brand move past the initial launch phase to effectively attract and engage homebrewers.
Production Challenges
The primary challenges presented with this photo shoot were a mix of technical logistics and location restrictions. First, to showcase the keg cooler's function, I had to learn how to tap a keg and use the equipment provided. Second, the keg cooler is heavy, especially when full, and needed to be moved to the shoot location and around the scene. Finally, as kegs are not typically welcome in local city parks, I had to be tactful in my location choice.
Creative Process
Overcoming these challenges took strategic planning and a collaborative team effort. The initial technical learning curve was mitigated by getting a firsthand lesson in tapping a keg from my model (who was squarely in the target audience of homebrewers) before the shoot. My models also helped me to overcome the strength challenge by helping me move the cooler where it needed to go. As far as the location, I chose a more off-the-beaten-path corner of a local park so as not to draw attention.
“That's excellent. Thanks. I love the one at the top of the gallery, he's clearly having a great time in his chair.”
