Elevating Global Household Brand Products Through Lifestyle Commercial Photography

 

Brand Overview

Band-Aid, a flagship brand under Johnson & Johnson, is the globally recognized leader in wound care and a staple in nearly every household first-aid kit. This project focused on promoting their Band-Aid Flexible Fabric line, which is specifically engineered for superior comfort, durability, and flexible adherence, essential for wounds on moving body parts.

Project Objective

The objective was to create a set of compelling lifestyle images that showcase the core usage and reliability of the Band-Aid Flexible Fabric product. The concept required capturing professional, yet authentic, real-life scenarios of people applying, using, packing, and holding Band-Aids. The emphasis was on the theme of a family interacting with the Band-Aid brand. Key imagery included close-up shots of the product being applied to minor wounds across various indoor and outdoor settings, and the product being packed into a bag for on-the-go scenarios.

 
 

Production Challenges

The primary challenge for this project was centered on elevating an ordinary household product to be visually compelling and aesthetically appealing in photographs. Creating a distinct and attractive aesthetic for a functional, non-glamorous item required thoughtful styling and prop selection, bright, natural lighting, and a strong focus on composition to ensure the final images were highly engaging and supportive of the brand's goal of appearing in relatable yet aspirational lifestyle contexts.

Creative Process

I focused on strategic storytelling and simple styling to bring this shoot to life. I sourced aesthetic props for the styled images, ensuring they complemented the clean, neutral-toned setting requested by the brand. For the indoor scenes, I kept it simple and bright by using my lifestyle photo studio. To add variety and create the on-the-go lifestyle aspect of the imagery, I shot some of the images at a local park as well.
