Mountain Fresh Snacks Update

Pacific Northwest CPG Snack Brand Photoshoot

Brand Overview

Mountain Fresh is a local brand offering premium grab-and-go foods like sandwiches, salads, and snacks. If youโ€™ve shopped at a convenience store on the West Coast, chances are youโ€™ve come across their products. Their branding is quintessentially Pacific Northwest, focusing on both the daily on-the-go lifestyle and adventures on your day off.

Project Objective

The objective of this project was to update Mountain Fresh's product imagery for their snack products. They had just transitioned from snack cups to smaller snack bags, and as they were preparing for trade show season, they wanted to get some fresh imagery that reflected their new packaging with the same brand vibes that they already lean into.

Production Challenges

The biggest challenges for this commercial product photoshoot were capturing on-the-go adventure imagery on a weekday morning in the middle of winter, without traveling too far from the city, and without it looking like all the imagery was shot in cold weather. In addition, one of the shirts my model brought was a red buffalo check, which is the one color the brand has asked me not to use in imagery for them.

Creative Process

I was able to source a location at a local park that provided a variety of forested and beach areas to keep the imagery diverse. Shooting in the middle of winter was tough, but we ended up with good weather, and I was able to lean into the Pacific Northwest vibes without the imagery feeling too cold. Lastly, with a little extra photoshopping, I was able to change my modelโ€™s shirt color to a much more on-brand forest green in post-production.
