Summer Product Imagery for Brewcursion
Creating Summer-Themed Brand Assets in Rugged Outdoor Environments
Brand Overview
Brewcursion designs high-performance mobile draft systems for those who want a professional-grade beverage experience in remote locations. Their gear is built for durability and convenience, ensuring that draft beer or cold drinks can follow you off the grid without compromising on quality. By focusing on rugged functionality and a refined aesthetic, Brewcursion is building a staple brand for outdoor enthusiasts who value social moments over a quality beverage, whether they are at a remote campsite or a weekend tailgate.
Project Objective
The brand requested a fresh library of adventure-centric content with a strong summer theme. The goal was to show the equipment in action across two distinct environments: the beach and a more traditional wooded Pacific Northwest camping setting. The objective was to capture the versatility of the keg coolers as an essential piece of summer adventure gear.
Additionally, the owner specifically requested shots focused on enjoying a beer from the tailgate to show how the system fits into a vehicle-based setup. By moving between the beach and the forest, the imagery needed to reflect the brand's core identity of making high-end draft quality accessible in any outdoor terrain.
Production Challenges
The main difficulties for this project were logistical and atmospheric. Finding a drive-on beach that was close enough to a wooded campground to allow for a single-day production required significant research. Coordinating a full day of travel and shooting with models also added to the complexity.
Beyond the location scouting, I had to manage the unpredictable Washington coast weather. Although we needed a summer aesthetic, the actual conditions were overcast and windy.
In addition, fitting a high volume of props, camping gear, and large keg coolers into a single vehicle required a strategic packing plan to ensure everything was accessible at each site.
Creative Process
I used my extended family as models, which allowed us to be flexible with the long day and multiple locations. We began at the drive-on beach to capture a summer adventure day and tailgate scenes requested by the brand. Despite the lack of actual sunshine, I had the models wear summerish outfits to give the impression of a fun summer beach day as much as possible.
At the second location, I set up a makeshift campsite, including a tent, to serve as a background for the wooded scenes. To enhance the authenticity of the camping environment, we cooked a camp meal of hot dogs.
In post-production, I focused on warming up the color palette of the beach shots a bit to try to create a summer feel that did not exist on the day of the shoot. This combination of intentional styling and technical editing allowed me to deliver a gallery that looks like a summer adventure despite the challenges of the Pacific Northwest coast.
