2017 Year in Review // Part 1
Harvey's First Birthday Party
It's been three months since I had the chance to sit down and blog. What a whirlwind ending to the year!
Every year I go through all of the photo sessions I've done and pick out my favorite images. It is incredibly encouraging for me to look back on the past year of photographs and memories and see how much I have grown and changed as a photographer. This year as I started to compile a folder of my favorites, I quickly realized that there was no way I could fit them into one manageable blog post, so I've decided to separate them into two categories. Today I am sharing just portraits with you.
Liesl // Tacoma Newborn Photography
My baby turned one last week and after much deliberation (thanks Pinterest), I decided to throw him a camping/woodland themed birthday party. I want to share all the little details with you here as well as where I found some of the ideas and products!
The Tan Family // Tacoma Family Photography
My sweet niece, Liesl was born a few weeks ago and I had the honor of doing her first photo shoot! She has two doting big sisters that couldn't be any cuter and they all made my job super easy!
The Szalonek Family // Tacoma Family Photography
The day I had scheduled to capture the Tan family it was pouring down rain so we had to switch up our location to a covered parking garage in Downtown Tacoma. I'm so glad that they were flexible and we were able to relocate the session. The garage provided some beautiful soft light for us as you can see!
The Noel Family // Tacoma Family Photography
This sweet family came into our community this past year and it has been such a joy to get to know them. Natalie talks incessantly and Titus is the chillest baby I've ever met and they are equally adorable. I'm so glad to have the opportunity to make new friends and to photograph them as well!
Four Things I Want My Family Clients to Know
Thinking back to days when I didn't have to wear fifteen layers to stay warm on my family sessions! I love summer photo sessions! The pretty sunlight, not worrying about being rained out, the warmth. Can't wait for more beautiful days like this one!
The Geiger Family // Tacoma Family Photography
I may not be good at writing my thoughts down on paper, and this may not be the most polished blog post you'll come across. But I want to do my best to be honest with you about these things that I think will help make your family photo session go as smoothly as possible.
The Bone Family // Stanwood Family Photography
I loved the Geiger's location choice for their session this year! The ferry was the perfect place for a fun family session and the weather was perfectly moody to go along with the Pacific Northwest vibe. By the end of this session little Otto was running up to me and giving me the biggest bear hug ever. I love making new friends with my littlest clients. It's the best!
2016 Year in Review
Last fall I made the trek up to Stanwood to photograph my cousin and her lovely family. It was a beautiful fall day and the location they chose on Camano Island was perfect! Here are a few of my favorites from the session.
This has been quite a year! January began with me six months pregnant and quitting my day job to go full time into photography.
One of the reasons I went full time was to accept a teaching position at Covenant High School. During Winter quarter I taught a basic photography class for junior and senior high school students. It was so fulfilling to teach about my passion and to see students work hard to achieve art through their photographs.
